Serving Eau Claire County
The mission of the Partnership for Strong Hmong Families is to provide an active forum for agencies, community members, and educators to work together to provide and promote opportunities that build strong family relationships in the Hmong community.
In the fall of 2000, a group of partners joined forces to develop and implement a grant-funded family strengthening program for Hmong families with children in 6th-8th grades. Since then, the partnership group has evolved to include more community partners and undertake new initiatives including development of a Hmong leadership program, dispersal of emergency funds for new refugee families, and research to understand how schools can improve their relationships with Hmong families.
Beliefs
Families are the foundation of a strong community. Hmong families living in Eau Claire want to raise competent and healthy children who can contribute to the community. By working together we can support their efforts to build strong families.
Value of Collaboration
By providing education, information, and resources to Hmong families and the wider community, PSHF partners increase cross cultural understanding and communication. Members meet regularly to collaborate in sharing resources, identifying areas of need and to plan, implement and evaluate programs.
