Housing

The Housing Program helps find adequate housing to meet the needs of individual families. The bilingual Housing Assistance Coordinator links clients with available low-income housing, including programs through both the Eau Claire City and County Housing Authorities. The coordinator also works with families to use the Home Rehabilitation Program, which provides loans for home improvement. Home-Buyer counseling is also available. According to U.S. Census data for 2000, 55 percent of the Hmong population in Eau Claire Country own their own homes.

The ECAHMAA recently expanded its capacity to assist with housing needs by acquiring a permanent affordable housing unit, and placing a qualified family in the home after renovation.
