victim of Crime Services

This program aims to assist Hmong victims of crime to understand and participate in the criminal justice system and provide a culturally competent response to the emotional needs of Hmong crime victims.

The Community Liaison works closely with both local justice systems and the Hmong community to build understanding and confidence in law enforcement and develop and enhance co-advocacy relationships with other victim service providers in the Chippewa Valley area.

LAW ENFORCEMENT COLLABORATION

The Community Liaison assists the ECPD and other police departments in the Chippewa Valley when appropriate in decreasing crime in the areas of domestic violence, gang involvement, theft, and other petty crime.

VICTIM SERVICE PROVIDERS COLLABORATION

The Community Liaison works cooperatively with other social services agencies when appropriate to make sure that services are provided to individuals and/or families in a culturally sensitive manner.

HMONG COMMUNITY SERVICES

The Community Liaison helps Hmong individuals and their families understand mainstream  and cultural norms to reduce and eliminate tensions between the Hmong community and the community at large. The Community Liaison also conducts workshops and education sessions when appropriate.
