Ntuj Tshiab
(New Sky/New Day)
The Ntuj Tshiab program started in September 2015 modeling after the Hmong American Women's Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The program was modified for our local community to address issues of sexual assault in the Hmong community within the Chippewa Valley.
The Ntuj Tshiab Program addresses the impacts and occurrences of sexual violence by:
· Providing culturally specific advocacy to Hmong sexual assault victims/survivors
· Encouraging self-love and respect
· Countering victim blaming and shaming
· Guidance through legal, medical and social systems
· Providing information about community resources/social service providers
· Support group
