Victims of crimes have certain rights under the law to access information and be informed about their case. Below are common rights that can be exercised by victims of crimes.

  • ​Right to due Process, Fairness, Dignity, Respect, and Privacy.

  • Right to notices of date, time and location of court proceedings.

  • Right to be present at any court proceedings.

  • Right to be heard through testimonies or statements.

  • Right to protection from harm and threats of harm. from the prosecution of the case. 

  • Right to apply for Crime Victim Compensation.

  • Right to speedy disposition of the case without delay.

  • Right to confer with prosecutor about the case.

  • Right to a copy of records.

  • Right to information and referral​.
